WHY?
TIMBALÉ Cultural Organization with the support of EAFIT University presents the FORUM OF ART AND SOCIAL LEADERSHIP 2022, a meeting space that brings together experts, people and organizations with a deep desire to contribute to the construction of the country through art and culture to enrich the debate around the role of creative and cultural industries in community development in Medellín and Colombia.
Since its inception theTimbalé Cultural Organizationhas had the objective of connecting people, organizations and communities to build a social fabric, empowering young people from vulnerable communities through dance and providing them with cultural settings to explore and disseminate their talents, and feel part of an artistic community that supports them.
In 2022, we want to expand our vision by opening the door to new languages that allow us to understand different perspectives and exchange experiences to enrich this dialogue, linking other sectors, from each of their contexts, promoting synergies that open the way to a new type of of social leadership based on art.
THEMES
PROPOSALS
Creation and adaptation of spaces for the development of artistic and cultural proposals in disadvantaged communities.
In this space we will discuss the challenges and experiences for the creation, strengthening and sustainability of infrastructures that culturally enrich the life of the communities. Infrastructures that generate a sense of appropriation and belonging in accordance with the context, interests, identities and ways of living to guarantee their permanence over time, and that constitute a symbol of coexistence and social inclusion and a meeting point for artistic creation, cultural management and community transformation.
Perspectives and contributions of the private sector for the promotion of social programs based on the artistic tool.
The private sector is essential for sustaining the cultural sector. Fostering synergies and strengthening ties between artists and the private sector goes beyond financing and includes various investment modalities, such as in-kind support, strengthening business skills and the development of social initiatives that link artistic creation and dissemination with generation of social impact. In this context, it is essential to establish a dialogue that allows an awareness of the private sector towards the potential of cultural industries for the growth and positioning of companies and brands, as well as an understanding of the differential needs and values that they seek, in order to that a shared vision be promoted for the consolidation of collaborative and sustainable artistic projects.
Creation of competences to boost the culture of social innovation from the academy.
In this space we seek to discuss which are those skills that must be strengthened to respond in a multidimensional way to social challenges in changing environments, training leaders who design, direct and execute impact projects to generate well-being and improve the quality of life of communities. , establishing a link between the different actors so that these lessons are framed in the realities and contexts of vulnerable groups. In addition, understand what are the challenges that the academic sector has experienced to adjust to the changing realities of the post-pandemic, implementing methodologies, pedagogies and dynamics that contribute to social transformation.
Practices, challenges and experiences of artistic projects with a social focus
The exchange of experiences, fears, successes and learning helps us to give visibility to the different activities and cultural practices that are taking place in different communities and territories, opens the door to collaborative networks and allows us to have a starting point to reflect on of the needs, desires, collective purposes and dialogues necessary to create artistic initiatives, framed in community contexts, whose purpose goes beyond the final artistic product and has the vision of generating transformative processes within the communities, using artistic practice as an intervention to strengthen the social fabric.
Platforms for the dissemination of artistic and cultural projects.
The development of digital platforms and technologies generates new opportunities for the dissemination of artistic and cultural projects with a social focus and contributes to the creation of new audiences and allies, not subject to geographic location, opening the door to new management models with a greater reach, inclusion and diversity. However, it also represents an innovation challenge for the cultural and creative industries that must appropriate these technologies, train in their use, create customer management tools and design experiences and new ways of communicating with the audience that facilitate their participation and interaction. incorporating monetization models that guarantee its long-term sustainability.
